As Chair of Governors I have always believed in teamwork - governors, all staff in all areas and at each level and parents working together to ensure the children receive a broad based education in a happy atmosphere and in pleasant surroundings.

We ensure that the whole budget funds raised and monies donated are all used wisely to provide statutory support, and extra resources in line with the school's development plans.

Each governor is encouraged to acquaint him/herself with the responsibilities of governship through sessions organised by the L.E.A and each year we meet under the direction of a representative from the centre to access and discuss new initiatives and teachers are always invited to share in the session.

We are a mixed, active, flexible body with differing interests and expertise, willing to support the headteacher in any way we can (e.g. monitoring) and together we work for the best interests of the children at Palmers Cross School.
