DRINKS IN SCHOOL

Research has proved that regular, small amounts of plain water help

the concentration and learning of children.

We do encourage our children to have regular drinks of water during the school day, either from their own bottles or the drinking fountains in school. However, it was never our intention that the children would be allowed free access to squash/pop, juice or flavoured water. Please support us in this.

If you wish your child to have a drink other than plain water at break time or lunch time then that is perfectly acceptable. But we really do want to only offer plain water in the classrooms at lesson times —all other drinks contain sugar, flavourings and other additives, which, taken too frequently will have a detrimental effect on children’s teeth.
