Class 4 had a WILD time at Dudley Zoo, learning about how to classify animals. With our partners, we looked at different types of animals and decided which class they were part of.
We are hoping to post a blog for Year 6's stay at Brecon Beacons. At this stage we do not know how good the Wi-Fi connection will be, but at the very least we are hoping that the children will be able to share photographs of their activities on our website.
We hope that you will access our website during Year 6’s stay to see what they have been able to achieve in keeping you posted about the children’s activities.
Find the blog by clicking 'read the blog' on the homepage photo of Brecon Beacons when it scrolls round, or select 'Year Group Information' on the Homepage and select Year 6.
Year 5 and 6 were really lucky on Wednesday 6th June , to have an assembly ran by the schools PCSO Trudie. They also took part in a workshop in the classrooms looking at personal safety, criminal responsibility and the consequences of their actions as they get older. At the end of the workshop the children had the chance to ask any questions.
Look at our fantastic efforts for our 'Family homework challenge' to recreate the famous sunflower painting.
To bring an end to our Roman History topic this term, class 3 were lucky enough to visit Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery where they thoroughly enjoyed hands on experience with real Roman artefacts and become real life Romans. This included a number of activities such as dressing up as the Roman's did, marching as Roman soldiers and discovering many different remains that have been found in Britain to come to their own conclusion about how they lived their lives. Thank you Class 3 for a wonderful day of joy and representing our school so beautifully!
All staff wish you a great half term holiday and look forward to seeing the children safely back at school on Monday 4th June.
Year 1 were taken back in time and visited a Victorian school where they were taught by a Victorian teacher, in a Victorian classroom, whilst wearing Victorian clothes. They were given a short Maths and English lesson and were even required to write on a slate board. The children were then able to explore the Victorian town and experience what life was like for a Victorian child.
On Friday 18th May we celebrated the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle.
To mark this very special occasion, the children took part in lots of activities, from afternoon tea parties to art activities looking at British Values. In addition to this, all children took part in a competition to design a commemorative plate. The winners from each class will be given the opportunity to turn their design into a real commemorative plate which will then be displayed in school!
Here are a few photos from the day.
A huge WELL DONE to all of our Year 2 and Year 6 pupils who have completed their SATs examinations over the last two weeks. They have worked super hard and we are very proud of them.
