Year 5 have been practising their cooking skills at Aldersley!
We made apple crumble today.
We made pizza bread.
We made delicious, fresh bread. We learnt what is needed to make bread rise, how to kneed and how to glaze the dough to give it a lovely golden look. We have also developed our team work to ensure we wash up after ourselves.
Fruit cakes were on the menu this week.
Excellent team work to create and wash up in a record breaking time.
Year 4 had an exciting visit from Severn Trent to learn about water use and sewage treatment. We found out how water travels around the water cycle and, in groups, we measured out the water use of different families to identify water savers and water wasters.
On 22nd January, twenty-one dancers from three Trust schools (Elston Hall, Palmers Cross and Edward the Elder Primary Schools) competed in the regional heats of the Great Big Dance Off at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre. Pupils performed their dance 'Faded', choreographed beautifully by dance teacher Miss Jones. Pupils worked extremely hard to perfect the dance and produced a stunning performance! Despite not getting a place in the final, staff and parents are extremely proud of how well pupils performed. More importantly, it has been wonderful to see friendships blossom between pupils from different Trust schools. Well done dancers - you were outstanding and did us all proud!
Year 3 gave an excellent performance to the whole school and a full house of family today! The concert included playing of the ukulele and some fabulous singing!
Year 5 took part in a NSPCC workshop. We learnt the slogan 'Speak Out Stay Safe'. During the workshop we were asked some tricky questions and we started to think about the right and wrong decisions we can make. We all learnt that abuse is NOT ok and it is NEVER a child's fault.
