We hope you had a wonderful break and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting and busy term ahead.

As we prepare for the upcoming SATs in May, children will be exposed to a wider range of SATs practice questions, tests and skills. Over the next few weeks, children may also participate in interventions with myself, Mr. Nicholls, and Mrs. Preece to provide targeted support where needed. We would also highly recommend that the children do additional revision at home, where possible, on skills they may find trickier. Times tables practice would also help a large number of children in class.

Children will continue to receive reading books tailored to their ability, and we encourage regular reading at home with questioning taken from the front of the children’s reading diaries. Homework will be more SATs-focused, including a mixture of maths, reading, and SPAG tasks. Booster club sessions will also continue every Monday. If you missed the opportunity to sign your child up for this, but would like them to go, simply write a note or chat to myself or Mr Nicholls.

This term, our science focus will be on Animals including Humans, while our new topic, ‘Wars of the World,’ will explore the causes of historical conflicts and their connections to current global events.

PE sessions will remain on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Please ensure your child has both indoor and outdoor PE kits in school on these days. A gentle reminder: jewellery, apart from stud earrings, should not be worn in school, and for safety reasons, earrings should be removed on PE days.

This is a pivotal term for the children, and we are committed to supporting them in achieving excellent progress.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak with one of us—we greatly value your partnership in your child’s education.

Thank you for your continued support.
