Crash Landing
Something exciting has happened! A spaceship has crash landed on our playground. When Class 1 came back to school after half term, they noticed that a mysterious spaceship had crash landed on the playground. They used the clue around the spaceship to figure out who it belonged to and to ask questions.

Class 1 are Artists
This week we have been learning about César Manrique, a Spanish artist and sculptor. We explored a range of his artworks and shared our opinions about the pieces we liked and disliked. Year 1 Design and Build Recycled Material Houses
In Design and Technology, Year 1 pupils designed and built their own houses using recycled materials. They explored different materials and had to make decisions about which were most suitable for construction. Through planning, selecting, and assembling their designs, the children developed early problem-solving skills and began to understand how materials affect structure and stability.

The RSCPA visit Class 1
Today we were visited by the RSPCA. As part of our learning about jobs in our community, they talked to us about their role in helping animals and how their job supports the community by keeping animals safe, healthy, and cared for. Class 1's local area walk
On Monday 12th January, the children set off on a lively walk around our local community. Not even the rain could stop their excitement! They explored different types of houses, spotted human and physical features in our community, and had a great time hunting for road signs along the way.

Class 1 - Animal Man Visit
Class 1 had an exciting visit from the Animal Man today, and it was a real highlight of our week. The children were thrilled to meet a range of amazing creatures up close, including a snake, hedgehog, skunk, bearded dragon and gecko. They were incredibly brave as they gently touched or held the animals, learning fascinating facts about each one and how to care for them. Class 1's Unity in the Community Inspiration Day
On Monday 5th January, Class 1 had a fantastic time coming to school dressed as different professions from our local community.
