Fun Science After School Club
On Monday 20 th April, 27 th April, 11 th May and 18 th May 2026 (No club on Monday 4 th due to it being a bank holiday) , children can dive into four action‑packed weeks of discovery, creativity, and hands‑on experiments. Get ready for Rock Steady!
Palmers Cross rocked out this morning when they were visited by Rocksteady - a company who deliver in school instrument lessons. Rocksteady began with a launch assembly and then gave a taster workshop to both KS1 and KS2 pupils. Some children were lucky enough to come onto the stage and play one of the instruments...Have a sneak peak at the video to see the children rocking out!! A huge well done to all the gymnasts who entered and performed at the competition at St. Edmunds on Monday! They were all a credit to Palmers Cross and all of their hardork and determination certainly paid off with some truly incredible routines on the floor and vault. Today Class 8 prepared an afternoon tea for their Mums in celebration of Mother's Day. The children sang songs, made bouquets of flowers and gave cards with flowers as gifts. Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mums in Class 8.

World Book Day and British Science Week in Class 2!
As part of World Book Day and British Science Week, Class 2 enjoyed a fun‑filled week themed around Jack and the Beanstalk . We even had a special visitor and discovered a mysterious giant footprint, complete with a letter from the Giant himself! The children carried out science experiments to help prove to Jack’s mother that the magic beans were real, and of course, we rounded off the week by dressing up as our favourite book characters.

All about Eggs!
Across Science week Class 4 have based their investigations on eggs, linking it to their English topic 'Humpty Dumpty' They started the week by comparing the shell of an egg to the enamel on our teeth. They placed eggs inside containers filled with water, orange juice, cola and coffee and waited 48hours. Once the time had passed they were able to see the effect the drink had on the egg shell appearance. They were then able to consider the importance of keeping our teeth healt

World Book and Science Week
This week in Class 8 we have been looking at the story of the Gingerbread Man to combine the celebrations of World Book Day and Science Week. We have engaged in role play to retell the story, made bridges for the Gingerbread Man to avoid the fox, looked at how running as fast we can affects our body and even baked our own Gingerbread Men that also ran away, Plus lots more!
