Today we were visited by the RSPCA. As part of our learning about jobs in our community, they talked to us about their role in helping animals and how their job supports the community by keeping animals safe, healthy, and cared for. We learned where different animals can be found and how people can help them. We then worked with a partner to role play caring for animals, thinking carefully about what the animals needed and how we could help them. We shared our ideas with the

On Monday 12th January, the children set off on a lively walk around our local community. Not even the rain could stop their excitement! They explored different types of houses, spotted human and physical features in our community, and had a great time hunting for road signs along the way.

Today Class 8 had a special invitation to attend Andy's birthday party from Woody. They had great fun at the party and were so happy when the birthday present arrived - it was Buzz Lightyear! What a great start to our new topic!

Class 5 had a fantastic day with the Animal Man company learning all about different animals, their habitats and some of the dangers these very animals face. We had the opportunity to handle snakes, owls, skunks, cockroaches and lizards to name a few. We all had a brilliant time exploring them and some of us even conquered our fears!

Today, Class 2 had the fantastic opportunity to welcome The Animal Man into school. The children were introduced to a fascinating range of animals, including cockroaches, snakes, owls and lizards. They listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions and gently touched some of the animals while learning interesting facts about them. This exciting experience has kickstarted our new science topic, Animals, including Humans , and provided a fantastic learning opportunity!

Class 1 had an exciting visit from the Animal Man today, and it was a real highlight of our week. The children were thrilled to meet a range of amazing creatures up close, including a snake, hedgehog, skunk, bearded dragon and gecko. They were incredibly brave as they gently touched or held the animals, learning fascinating facts about each one and how to care for them. The children in class 7 enjoyed meeting the different animals. We met snakes, lizards and an owl to name a few.

Class 8 enjoyed meeting all the animals in school today. They were kind and caring in helping to say hello to each of the animals turn.

During the afternoon, Class 2 had lots of fun exploring and playing in the snow outside. As well as making snowmen and drawing in the snow, this was a great learning opportunity to discuss the signs of winter by making links to our science topic of Plants.

On Monday 5th January, Class 1 had a fantastic time coming to school dressed as different professions from our local community. We welcomed hairdressers, doctors, police officers, firefighters, surgeons, footballers, builders and even telecom engineers into our classroom! The children loved sharing who they were dressed as and learning about the important roles these people play in our everyday lives. Arley Grinch stole Christmas for Class 8 this morning after a special visit from Santa. Class 8 have had a lovely last day of term celebrating Christmas. Class 8 would like to wish all our friends and families a very Merry Christmas!

This morning, Class 3 and Class 6 came together for a special shared learning experience inspired by The Polar Express . The two classes took turns sharing their own narratives, proudly reading and listening to each other’s imaginative retellings of the magical journey. What a truly magical day we had in Nursery and Reception as we climbed aboard The Polar Express for a festive adventure full of excitement and Christmas cheer! The children arrived dressed in cosy pyjamas, ready for our special journey to the North Pole.
